What to Wear & Bring
  • Dress in layers. It is typically a little cooler and windier at the beach.
  • Knee length rubber boots (rentals available)
  • You will need a Discover Pass to park. They are available for purchase in advance or upon arrival for $11.50/day.

Food & Drinks
Can I eat the oysters raw right off the beach?

If you are a big fan of raw oysters, we recommend that you book for an experience in April – May. The WA Department of Health advises that all shellfish recreationally harvested during the months of May-September, should be cooked thoroughly to avoid illness due to Vibriosis. Please read the Vibriosis Fact Sheet for more information.

Do I have to shuck oysters?

Not at all! If you just want to focus on eating them, no worries. We will be shucking them for you to enjoy, along with giving everyone the opportunity to shuck if they’d like to give it a whirl. We will provide you with all the equipment to do so safely.

What if I have dietary restrictions?
The seated portion of the experience is a 100% pescatarian menu. We can accommodate gluten-free and dairy-free requests if informed in advance. The only meat included in this event is on the charcuterie board.
What if I don’t drink?
Don’t sweat it! We’ve got you covered with a variety of refreshing non-alcoholic drinks. You’ll still get to enjoy the same fantastic meal experience as everyone else. The cost is the same for everyone, regardless of whether you’ll be imbibing or not.
What if I’d like to have wine pairings for every course of the meal?
The event includes sparkling wine with the raw oysters and charcuterie when you arrive. We pair a local WA white wine with the seated 3-course meal. You do have the option to add two additional wine pairings for $30/person. Please select this option at the time of booking so we bring enough with us to the beach!
Do I really need rubber boots?
Rubber boots will keep your feet dry and happy. And the taller the boots, the further out you will be able to go to grab the absolute freshest shellfish. Don’t have any? No sweat! We have them available for rent for $10/pair. Just select your size during checkout!
Will shin-height rubber boots be ok?
They will certainly work just fine! But just remember, the taller the boots, the further out you’ll be able to go to grab the freshest shellfish.
Location

These events are hosted on Hood Canal in Washington, usually in Brinnon, Belfair, or Lilliiwaup. The venue is dictated by the tide schedule and when and where the Department of Fish and Wildlife allow shellfish harvesting.
