  • If you are more interested in maximizing hands-on foraging time and bringing home a few pounds of mushrooms, please check out our specialized mushroom hunts instead.
  • We’re not politicians so we can’t guarantee when, where, or how many mushrooms you’ll encounter. However, we will show you the entire spectrum (e.g., toxic, inedible, and edible) of what’s fruiting at that very moment.
  • Mushrooms come and go with the seasons, so the kinds you’ll see will depend on the time of year. Don’t worry – we’ll teach you how to find the good stuff!

FAQs
What kind of mushrooms will I find?

It all depends on the season! Each mushroom has its own time to shine, so what you’ll find depends on when you visit.

What happens if I don’t find many mushrooms or ones that I like?

Unfortunately, we can’t control Mother Nature, so we aren’t able to offer refunds. In the rare event you don’t find many mushrooms, we’ll still make sure you leave with some goodies to enjoy at home.

Cancellations
What is the cancellation policy?
  • We get it, life happens. We offer cancellation insurance for 10% of the ticket price at time of purchase.
What if it rains?

Tours operate rain or shine.

Miscellaneous
How physically demanding is this?

We won’t be scaling Mount Everest, but we will be hiking off-trail for up to a mile. Expect to crouch and stand for up to two hours. Dress comfortably and come prepared to have a blast!

Are restrooms available?

Restrooms are not always available. Most locations where the Seattle Mushroom Foraging 101 and Chef-Led Intro to Gourmet Mushroom Foraging + Cooking classes take place do have bathrooms or porta potties.

Make sure to take care of business beforehand and bring your own supplies if you need to use the “faciliatrees.” Remember to leave no trace…including TP!

Where do we meet?

Seattle Mushroom Foraging 101 and Chef-Led Intro to Gourmet Mushroom Foraging classes meet within a 40 minute drive of Seattle.

We scout locations in the days leading up to class and follow where the mushrooms go! The exact location will be sent to you via text message by 24 hours prior to the event date.

What if I don’t have a car?

Rideshare trips are typically between $65-$75 each way from downtown Seattle. You can save 75% by hopping on public transit to get you nearby. From there, catch an Uber or Lyft to/from the trailhead for about $15-$25.
